Our major artistic component for our advanced diploma was our own exhibition piece, I decided I wanted to create a heap of propaganda posters for a fictional dystopian society, playing of course on real world dictatorships and the like, for this I wanted to do a 1950’s pinup shoot.
Years ago I created my own language, which I drew up again to use as a foreign language for my piece, all in 3DS Max. Lots of bare essentials for my exhibition pieces such as my language & symbols would have been a lot easier if I had been familiar with Illustrator. My pieces merged photography, 3D modelling and photoshop to create my pin-up, pop art designs which vary in tone.

I had acquired an Olympus Trip 35 from a pawn shop and took the opportunity to do some urban exploring, I sadly ruined my rolls of film from Leopard Street Tunnel under Wooloongabba but one of my following explorations took me inside the abandoned morgue at Brisbane’s Queen’s Wharf.
The major constraint with the Olympus Trip 35 was its limited Shutter speed settings, which was limited to 4.

Second term in 2020 we still had the odd online class due to covid, covid still being fresh on everyone’s minds.
The virus and environmental issues were on top of my mind when we were briefed with our surrealism assignment so I combined the 2 themes with a lot of experimentation.
One of my first projects which blended my knowledge of 3DS Max, Photoshop & photography. Probably more surrealism than my actual surrealism project I added materials from building photos to a warped rectangular prism and created my own little world.
